In a empowering move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday distributed keys to new Type-5 flats in Sarojini Nagar’s GPRA colonies to female beneficiaries. The visit allowed PM Modi to interact directly with laboring women, celebrating their resilience and role in nation-building.
These redevelopment efforts span prominent Delhi locales including Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, and Srinivaspuri. They align with the government’s vision for upgraded residential pools and superior facilities for civil servants and administrative hubs.
Funded through a pioneering self-reliant model costing Rs 15,200 crore, the projects avoid fiscal strain by commercializing select areas. This revenue stream supports comprehensive redevelopment, yielding over 9,350 contemporary flats and 48 lakh sq ft of office space—enhancing productivity and future revenue potential.
The initiatives promise a modern living standard for thousands while streamlining government operations.
Complementing this, PM Modi rolled out Rs 18,300 crore worth of Delhi Metro expansions. Key inaugurations include the Pink Line’s 12.3 km Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur stretch and Magenta Line’s 9.9 km Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park corridor, benefiting neighborhoods from Burari to Bhalswa.
Foundation stones were laid for Phase 4’s 16.10 km corridors: RK Ashram Marg-Indraprastha, Aerocity-IGI T1, and Tughlakabad-Kalindi Kunj. These will revolutionize connectivity across the capital, easing commutes to airports, Noida, and South Delhi.
Delhi’s infrastructure renaissance continues, blending housing equity with transit innovation for a more connected metropolis.
