Minister Vijay Sinha outlines plans for 21.2 million farmer IDs and flood aid
Patna, Oct 4 — In a press briefing, Minister Vijay Sinha disclosed that the administration is targeting the issuance of 2.12 crore farmer IDs under the AgriStack platform. He noted that while the original ambition was to enroll 48 lakh farmers, progress had slowed and a renewed effort is now required.
“Our objective is to reach the remaining 21.2 million IDs swiftly, with full cooperation from the revenue department and vigilant monitoring by the chief secretary,” Sinha said.
The minister also assured that the government will fully compensate those who suffered losses in the recent floods. He visited the flood‑hit district of Gopalganj and observed relief activities, emphasizing that the state is prepared to handle any disaster and provide timely assistance.
On the issue of fertilizer dealer unrest, Sinha dismissed the possibility of a strike, stating that the government is already addressing the pricing disputes and ensuring that the supply chain remains uninterrupted.
