Minister slams independent MP for dressing in saffron during temple theft protest
Patna, August 1 – While members of Parliament gathered to protest the alleged misplacement of the Ram temple idol, independent MP Pappu Yadav arrived in a bright saffron kurta and a rudraksha mala. Bihar minister Ramkripal Yadav called the display a "stage act" that tarnished the image of Sanatan Dharma and disrespected the devotion of saints and millions of followers.
Yadav noted that the MP is currently facing more than forty legal cases, making his theatrical entry even more questionable. He warned that wearing religious symbols in a political demonstration inside the Parliament is unacceptable and urged the Speaker to take decisive action.
The minister also accused opposition parties of backing the stunt, saying that such encouragement undermines the dignity of the House and the religious harmony of the nation.
