Minister claims Congress has abandoned its founding values after August 15 video

A video from August 15 showing Congress office members performing only two lines of "Vande Mataram" prompted Union Minister Giriraj Singh to allege that the party has strayed far from its original values.

Singh asserted that the party's half‑hearted rendition reflects an anti‑India posture and that it is being steered by the Muslim League. He specifically targeted Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, describing their expressions as if "poison was being administered".

He emphasized that the Congress no longer represents the principles of its founders, labeling it a "Gandhi family" outfit rather than a true Congress party.

The minister warned that the issue extends beyond the national anthem, suggesting a concerted effort to undermine India's revolutionary legacy under Muslim League pressure.

Singh cited Rahul Gandhi's twelve‑year track record, claiming none of his statements have defended national interests, and questioned Sonia Gandhi's patriotism by noting her fifteen‑year wait for Indian citizenship after marriage.

He also rebuked Congress spokesperson Manishankar Ayyar's justification for making the full "Vande Mataram" recital compulsory, calling Ayyar a "puppet" who merely repeats Rahul Gandhi's line.
