Rituals of Milk, Honey and Panchamrit Offerings to Baba Mahakal

As the temple doors opened, priests performed a water abhishek followed by a Panchamrit offering made of milk, curd, ghee, honey and fruit juices. Baba Mahakal was crowned with a moon on his head, and the first bell rang to present Hari Om water. After a camphor aarti, a fresh crown was placed on the deity. The ceremony continued with drummers, nagadas and conch sounds, culminating in the ash aarti that bathed the shrine in fragrant smoke.
