Military Aid Extends from Mountains to Sea: Two Successful Operations

While the army was rescuing a woman high above the Himalayas, the Indian Navy simultaneously conducted a life‑saving mission at sea. A Vietnamese merchant crew member aboard the vessel MT Sun 09 suffered severe injuries after an onboard accident in the Andaman Sea. Indian naval units, operating from the Andaman and Nicobar Command, responded quickly, deploying a ship near Indira Point. The injured sailor was hoisted onto the naval vessel, given immediate first‑aid, and transferred to Campbell Bay for comprehensive medical treatment. Both operations underline the armed forces’ dual role in defending borders and providing humanitarian assistance.
