Mhatre denies beating female doctor, claims phone incident

Speaking to a news channel, Ramesh Mhatre rejected the accusation of physically attacking a female doctor. He claimed he only tried to get the doctor's attention by tapping her mobile phone after several unanswered calls. Mhatre argued that his actions were driven by concern for the mother and the newborn and that he was trying to expedite medical assistance. He refused to apologise, saying he helped save the lives of the woman and her child, while also stating that he would express regret only if the doctors themselves offered an apology.
