Mental health cited in VP Road police post walkie‑talkie theft case

Senior officials of Mumbai Police revealed that the individual caught stealing a walkie‑talkie from the VP Road beat post suffers from mental health disturbances. The suspect’s erratic behavior led him to seize the radio that was repeatedly sounding inside the post on September 17. After a thorough tracking process, he was detained at Andheri railway station and the device was reclaimed. The police are now conducting a psychological assessment of the accused while the broader investigation remains open.
