Meghalaya's School Performance Index Jumps to Ambitious‑1

The state’s education sector has received the largest share of the Chief Minister's Special Development Fund, with roughly half of the ₹300‑₹400 crore spent over the past eight fiscal years directed to schools. As a result, Meghalaya moved from the 'Ambitious‑3' to the 'Ambitious‑1' band in a single year, lifting its Performance Grading Index score from 448 to 525.7 points. The pass rate for the SSLC rose to 97.2%, HSSLC to 86.6%, and the transition rate from class 10 to 11 climbed to 82.1%.
