New details have emerged in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, revealing a series of failed attempts to kill Raja Raghuvanshi before his eventual death. Police investigations indicate that the accused, including his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, orchestrated three unsuccessful murder attempts prior to the successful fourth attempt. Raja was allegedly murdered by Sonam and her lover, Raj Kushwaha, who hired three professional killers. The crime occurred during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
Law enforcement officials have disclosed that the initial attempt was planned in Guwahati, followed by two subsequent attempts in Sohra, all of which were unsuccessful. The final, fatal attack took place at the Visadong waterfall. The police stated that the suspects had considered various locations for the crime, including Guwahati and Nongriat, but those plans did not materialize due to logistical challenges.
Further investigation revealed that the couple had initially planned to visit Kamakhya in Guwahati after their marriage. The hired killers arrived on May 19th. The original plan to kill Raja in Guwahati was abandoned when Sonam decided to travel to Shillong and Sohra, leading to a change in the murder plan.
