Mazumdar criticizes Imran Khan's foreign citizenship and political activism
Union Minister Sukant Mazumdar addressed the issue of actor Imran Khan's involvement in political activities after acquiring foreign citizenship. He argued that a U.S. citizen can participate in American politics, but a Indian citizen cannot rally abroad against the Indian government.
"If you hold U.S. citizenship, you may involve yourself in that country's political arena. As an Indian citizen, I cannot support or conduct rallies in another nation against India," Mazumdar asserted.
He further stated that Imran Khan has no direct connection to India's political process and that his attempts to influence Indian affairs from abroad are unwarranted. The minister's comments aim to underline the principle that foreign citizens should not interfere in domestic politics.
These remarks came amid discussions about the broader CJC movement and the government's response to perceived external influences on Indian political discourse.
