Mayawati Calls for Voter Vigilance as BSP Targets 2027 Power Return

Lucknow, August 31 – With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election on the horizon, BSP chief Mayawati launched a forceful appeal to the electorate, warning against the seductive “revadi” offers, glittering promises and manipulative election tactics of rival parties. She urged citizens to keep a watchful eye before casting their ballots, stressing that private profiteering should not shape the outcome.

In a comprehensive meeting that brought together state, division and district presidents from all 75 districts, as well as senior party officials, Mayawati examined the party’s ground‑level preparedness. Discussions included the status of candidate selection, organisational strength at polling booths, and activities carried out since the last two strategy gatherings. She called for an accelerated and more efficient campaign rollout.

The leader stressed that BSP must confront the “sam, daam, dand, bhed” (same, price, punishment, division) tactics employed by opposition forces, affirming the party’s objective of securing a fifth term in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati highlighted the danger of “revadi” schemes that promise personal benefits to sway votes, particularly targeting women and marginalized groups.

She also referenced the alleged post‑election betrayals witnessed in other states, describing them as failures of public‑interest duty. BSP, she said, will continue to fight anti‑people attitudes, even as activists confront police cases and governmental intimidation.

Touching upon persistent challenges such as inflation, poverty, unemployment and regional backwardness, Mayawati noted that these factors compel many Uttar Pradesh residents to migrate to other states. She dismissed election‑time promises as “seeds in a liar’s mouth” and insisted that governments must address citizens’ problems throughout their tenure, not only during campaign seasons.

Recalling BSP’s prior administrations, Mayawati claimed they delivered historic social change and economic emancipation without waiting for any auspicious moment. The party’s 2027 blueprint envisions a regime grounded in “law by law,” free from exploitation, oppression and corruption.

The gathering also finalized arrangements for the October 9 commemoration of BSP founder Shri Kanshiram’s birth anniversary. The event will take place at a grand dome‑shaped memorial on VIP Road, Lucknow, beside the newly developed Buddhist Memorial Park, and is expected to attract participants from western Uttar Pradesh and across the state.

Finally, Mayawati expressed heartfelt condolences for the flood devastation in Nepal and called on both central and state governments to promptly extend relief to flood‑hit districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh, where poverty and debt heighten the community’s vulnerability.
