Mathura Assembly Seats 2027: Vote Margins and Political Outlook

As political preparations intensify for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2027, Mathura has emerged as a key arena for strategic planning. Located in western Uttar Pradesh and the heart of Braj, the district consistently influences state-level electoral outcomes. Voter demographics here are heavily influenced by the alignment of Jat, Brahmin, Thakur, and Muslim communities.

The district’s political map is divided into five assembly segments: Chhatra, Mant, Govardhan, Mathura, and Baldeo. The sitting members of the legislative assembly represent these constituencies, with Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary, Rajesh Chaudhary, Meghshyam, Shrikant Sharma, and Puran Prakash currently holding office.

Historical data from the 2022 polls reveals significant victory margins across these segments. In Chhatra, Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary finished 48,948 votes ahead of Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Tejal Singh. Chaudhary secured 1,24,414 votes, while Tejal Singh garnered 75,466 among twelve contenders.

Mant witnessed a closer contest. Rajesh Chaudhary prevailed over Bharatiya Janata Party's opponent. He won with 83,958 votes, defeating BSP’s Shyam Sundar Sharma (74,378) by 9,580. Sanjay Lather of the Samajwadi Party finished third with 60,585 votes.

In Govardhan, Meghshyam defeated BSP’s Raj Kumar Rawat by a substantial 42,507 votes. Meghshyam collected 1,00,199 votes, while Rawat received 57,692. Thirteen candidates fought for this seat.

Shrikant Sharma’s victory in Mathura was commanding, with a winning margin of 1,09,803 votes. He polled 1,58,859 votes, leaving Congress’s Pradeep Mathur in second place with 49,056. BSP and SP candidates occupied the third and fourth positions.

Baldeo saw Puran Prakash secure a 25,255-vote lead over National Lok Dal’s Babita Devi. Prakash received 1,08,414 votes compared to Babita Devi’s 83,159. Six candidates contested this area. Analyzing these past results provides a clear template for understanding the electoral dynamics ahead of the upcoming legislative polls.
