In a vibrant display of cultural pride, a large rally swept through Patna’s Marine Drive on Sunday, calling for the construction of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s monumental ‘Statue of Governance.’ The event, part of the Social Harmony Campaign, drew participants from Bihar’s districts and neighboring states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and even Delhi.
Preceded by a Ganga snan sankalp maha sangam, the demonstrators converged at the earmarked location for rituals including water offerings and floral tributes. Slogans echoing ‘Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji Maharaj’ filled the air as the crowd demonstrated unwavering resolve.
Campaign leader and BJP figure Pranav Prakash took the stage, noting the multi-year struggle for government land. ‘We’ve rallied here before, and our voice grows louder,’ he stated. Prakash linked the statue to Shivaji’s visionary governance, which championed village self-rule and uplifted the underprivileged. He argued that adopting these principles is key to India’s path toward development, self-reliance, and patriotic consciousness.
‘Bihar’s masses are demanding this tribute,’ Prakash declared, sharing their village-to-village campaign. He urged the administration—whether under BJP or JD(U)—to heed the public’s will. The rally concluded on a hopeful note, with expectations high for swift land approval, reinforcing Shivaji’s role as a timeless symbol of ethical leadership.
