Marathwada farmers to receive debt relief and free electricity under new scheme

The chief minister announced that the state will waive outstanding electricity bills amounting to ₹48,000 crore for farmers, ensuring they receive free power moving forward. In addition, the "Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Loan Waiver Scheme" will be extended, and a list of eligible beneficiaries will be released soon.

Fadnavis assured that the assessment of crop losses will begin after October 5, with assistance from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) being expedited so that aid reaches farmers before the fund’s formal disbursement.

To address fodder shortages, the government has already launched a "Fodder Development Programme" that includes the early sowing of fodder crops, aiming to stabilize feed supplies for livestock during dry periods.
