Manik Saha Signals Openness to Talks with Surrendered Insurgents While Planning Election Strategy

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that his government remains ready to engage with surrendered militants, reiterating a willingness to meet former insurgent leaders personally.

Speaking to the press on Sunday, the CM said his administration maintains constant contact with officials handling the surrender process and is attentive to the concerns of all stakeholders.

At the same time, Saha disclosed that he will travel to New Delhi to discuss the upcoming Village Committee elections with BJP central leaders and Tipra Motha Party heads. The meeting, expected on Sunday night or Monday, will involve TMP chief Pradip Bikram Manikya DebBarma and other party officials who are currently based in the capital.

The Chief Minister refrained from providing details about any potential joint contest, noting that strategic decisions are still under consideration. The TTAADC’s 587 Village Committees and a series of urban local bodies are set to vote later this year, making the election a pivotal moment for Tripura’s tribal and mainstream political dynamics.
