Mangalore police examine death of Dubai engineer linked to recent NEET suicide

The Karnataka police force is scrutinising the death of Arjun Mahesh, a 24‑year‑old Dubai‑based automobile engineer, after his corpse was located hanging in a room of the Sky Grand Empire Hotel in Mangalore. Arjun, originally from Kasargod, had travelled to India but never reached his residence, prompting his family to search for him in Mangalore. A brief note left at the scene was addressed to his mother and two friends, apologising and asking them to be informed. He was the elder brother of Aija R Mahesh, a 19‑year‑old NEET candidate who died by suicide on June 2 while preparing for a retake exam following the cancellation of the original test. Police have announced that they will record statements from family members and friends to determine any connection between the two incidents.
