Make in India drives global confidence, says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that the record‑breaking production and export numbers are clear evidence of the world’s growing confidence in the Make in India platform. Launched in 2014, the programme faced criticism and doubts about its viability. Over the past twelve years, however, it has set new benchmarks for speed, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.

Singh added that the shift in perception is evident across sectors – from mobile‑phone assembly and automobile exports to indigenous locomotive manufacturing and digital infrastructure. The minister highlighted the strategic importance of these advances as India moves toward a self‑sufficient and technologically advanced economy.
