Noida law enforcement struck a decisive blow against organized vehicle theft Thursday, arresting three members of a gang that preyed on car tyres and batteries. Sector-39 police recovered a cache of stolen parts, tools, arms, and the criminals’ operational vehicle during the bust near Som Bazaar cut.
The apprehended criminals are Vishal Sharma (Dhola), 28, a Sector-45 resident with a lengthy rap sheet; Vishal Tyagi (Akku), 26, from Gejha village; and Upender Pathak, 28, hailing from Bulandshahr’s Nabi Pur area. Interrogations revealed their modus operandi: nocturnal raids on unattended cars in housing societies, followed by quick sales in Delhi.
Seized evidence comprised six tyre assemblies with rims, two vehicle batteries, cutting tools, jacks, panes, a Maruti Wagon R, two unlicensed country-made pistols, and a dagger. Battery theft prompted an additional case registration.
History-sheeter Dhola faces more than two dozen FIRs involving violent crimes, drug laws, and illegal arms. Tyagi and Pathak have records marred by brawls, larcenies, and excise breaches.
Authorities anticipate a drop in such incidents post-arrest. Probes are delving deeper into accomplices, fences, and unsolved cases linked to the gang. The community breathes easier as justice progresses.
