Bhopal’s law enforcement struck hard against organized crime with a high-stakes midnight raid on the infamous Iranian Dera in Nishatpura’s Aman Colony. Launched at 2 AM on Wednesday, the operation involved nearly 400 personnel who maintained absolute confidentiality to ensure no escapes.
Surrounding the colony under cover of darkness, officers conducted thorough searches, questioning dozens and detaining over 40 suspects, comprising men and women. Several arrestees are linked to grave offenses spanning multiple states, including Madhya Pradesh.
Sources revealed the prize catch: bounty fugitive Shahaadat, carrying a Rs 1.38 lakh reward. DCP Mayur Khandelwal spearheaded the mission, backed by senior officers, all under Commissioner Sanjay Kumar’s oversight.
The action echoes last month’s takedown of crime lord Abid Ali, known as Raju or Rahman Dakait, nabbed from the very same spot. His syndicate orchestrated heists, frauds, kidnappings, fake identities, firebombings, and assassination bids in 14 states. Prosecuted under MCOCA in Maharashtra, Raju masterfully impersonated officials or holy men to dupe the faithful.
Interrogations continue as police aim to expose broader conspiracies. This bold move underscores Bhopal’s zero-tolerance policy on criminal safe havens, boosting public morale in the fight against underworld elements.
