Mahant Dinesh Das Reports Smooth Worship Flow at Ram Temple Amid Growing Pilgrim Numbers
Ayodhya, July 24 – As the week‑long purification and atonement program at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple draws to a close, Mahant Dinesh Das Maharaj said the worship schedule is running seamlessly. The temple's darshan and prayer sessions have seen no interruptions, and the influx of devotees continues to climb, boosted by the full‑moon observance.
The final full havan will be performed at 11 a.m. in the Yajna Kund, with the Mahant himself taking part in the sacred fire offering.
He stressed the necessity of safeguarding Ayodhya’s traditional practices, noting that under Vaishnav tradition the rites also include reverence to Lord Shiva as an embodiment of Lord Rama. The ceremony engaged local saints and ascetics, guaranteeing that pilgrims will encounter no inconvenience.
The purification drive was launched after irregularities were detected in the temple's donation and offering procedures, aiming to restore its purity. Daily, the Valmiki Ramayana was read aloud and the Vishnu Sahasranama was chanted at least 251 times. Seventy Vedic priests and regional spiritual leaders participated, and the concluding havan will formally end the series of rites.
