Magnum Ice Cream Launches Global Business Solutions Centre in Pune

Magnum Ice Cream has opened its Global Business Solutions Centre (GBS) in Pune, marking a significant milestone for the company's expansion in India. The centre, inaugurated by Maharashtra's chief minister, is slated to create more than 1,000 direct jobs and catalyze indirect employment across the region.

According to CFO Abhijit Bhatta‑Charya, the rapid establishment of the centre was facilitated by the state government's swift decision‑making and supportive policies. He highlighted Pune's strong industrial ecosystem, superior connectivity, and proactive administration as core reasons for selecting the city.

The facility will leverage artificial intelligence, automation, and sophisticated logistics platforms to optimise manufacturing, distribution, and customer‑experience operations. It will also work closely with Magna’s regional headquarters in Mumbai, aligning strategies to expand the company's footprint in Maharashtra.

Magnum’s leadership praised the vision outlined by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to position Maharashtra as a premier hub for Global Capability Centres, and expressed eagerness to collaborate on sustainable dairy initiatives and introduce the global ice‑cream brand 'Ben & Jerry's' to the Indian market.
