Madhya Pradesh: Woman Killed After Leopard Breaches Home

Security and tranquility were shattered in Tagavar village, Shahdol district, following a deadly leopard assault on a local resident. Saraswati Singh Goni lost her life after the wild animal invaded her home and took her away during the night.

Neighbors and kin explained that the victim’s dwelling was an old, crumbling structure without any doors. The compromised walls and open layout made it extremely easy for the leopard to infiltrate the house. She had been sleeping with her mother and sister in a room adjacent to the jungle.

Witnesses mentioned that the creature disturbed the victim during her sleep and carried her off silently. The rest of the family remained asleep until daylight. When they checked her sleeping mat on Wednesday morning, she was gone.

A hurried search operation was launched across the neighborhood. Her lifeless and maimed corpse was eventually unearthed a short distance from the house. The discovery triggered widespread panic and deep sorrow throughout the settlement.

The forest department’s rapid response unit reached the spot and retrieved the body for official documentation and post-mortem analysis. Northern Forest Division DFO Tarun Verma verified that the incident stems from the animal entering through the unprotected house.

Initial findings strongly indicate a lethal predation event. Authorities have successfully concluded the medical examination and are distributing emergency aid to the grieving relatives. Ongoing measures will ensure proper handling of the case moving forward.
