Madhya Pradesh Food Safety Dept Faces Scrutiny After Infant Fatality
A shocking case from Binoli village, Ratlam, has put the state’s food safety mechanisms in the spotlight. Two‑year‑old Aryan died after consuming a sweet, prompting his family to seek emergency treatment at Mandsaur's government hospital, where the child could not be saved.
The loss has revived earlier concerns about food adulteration, especially the rumored fake‑milk trade in the Javra belt. Citizens are now demanding regular, surprise inspections rather than reactive measures after a tragedy.
With the upcoming festival period expected to boost sweet sales, officials are being pressed to launch a rapid, district‑wide sampling campaign. Every sweet shop, milk seller, and related food stall should be sampled and the specimens examined in accredited labs.
Senior local leader Karan Singh Sherpur used his social media platform to condemn the alleged negligence and called for an impartial probe. Food safety inspector Jyoti Baghel visited the shop and collected samples; authorities will act once the laboratory findings are released.
