Madhia Nursery Hub Generates Jobs for 800 Women in Gujarat

Around 150 families in Madhia are directly involved in plug‑nursery operations, creating indirect employment for over 800 women from neighbouring villages. The labour‑saving nature of the plug system—minimal weeding, reduced transplant shock and faster growth—allows women to work both at home and in the nurseries.

The Center of Excellence in Vadodara provides regular training, field visits and technical guidance on protected farming, fertigation and climate‑controlled nursery management. As a result, nursery operators in Madhia consistently deliver high‑quality, disease‑free seedlings that meet market demand across multiple states.
