Ludhiana Clash: Ravneet Bittu’s Anti‑Man Rally Turns Violent

A protest organized by former Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu turned chaotic on Saturday in Ludhiana as his supporters gathered near the Punjab Agricultural University entrance. When Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s convoy passed, Bittu brandished eggs, tomatoes and a small bottle of liquor, attempting to throw them at the procession.

Police officers quickly intervened, creating a cordon that stopped the protestors from reaching the convoy. After a prolonged standoff, the authorities took Bittu into custody. The BJP leader claimed the act was a deliberate attempt to “send” the food items to the chief minister and warned that similar protests would be launched in other states against AAP leaders.

This incident follows a similar episode in Batala the previous day, where Bittu’s convoy was targeted with eggs and tomatoes, damaging vehicle glass and prompting Bittu to accuse the opposition of orchestrating the attack. He also stated that a case filed against him would not deter his political activities.
