Medical facilities in Lucknow treat all Barabanki swine flu patients, conditions stable

All five individuals linked to the recent swine flu outbreak in Barabanki have been shifted to Lucknow’s tertiary care hospitals, where they are undergoing antiviral therapy under close observation. Health authorities confirm that each patient’s vital signs are within manageable ranges.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lov Gupta highlighted that the state has ensured a steady supply of oseltamivir and zanamivir at every community health centre, and that the district hospital has set up a dedicated pediatric immunisation booth.

In addition to medical preparedness, the department released an advisory circular canceling all scheduled leaves for physicians across the district, guaranteeing round‑the‑clock doctor availability. Healthcare workers have been briefed on isolation protocols and early‑diagnosis procedures.

Residents have been advised to minimize visits to crowded markets, wear masks, and practice hand hygiene. Anyone experiencing fever, cough, or sore throat is urged to report symptoms immediately for testing.

Two of the patients were identified in Barabanki’s urban and Bindaura localities, while the remaining three were originally from Lucknow but were diagnosed after returning from Haidergarh and Dariyabad. Ongoing contact tracing aims to locate any additional exposures linked to the latest suspected case.
