Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Tours Agra Central Arms Depot, Highlights Modernisation

Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, commander of the Army’s Central Command, visited the Central Arms Depot in Agra to evaluate its logistics framework and ongoing modernisation efforts. The depot, a critical hub for storage and distribution of weaponry, has adopted advanced inventory‑management software and automated handling equipment.

During the walkthrough, the general was briefed on the deployment of RFID‑based tracking, cloud‑linked supply‑chain analytics and predictive maintenance tools designed to keep materiel flowing seamlessly to front‑line formations. He emphasized that such digital upgrades are essential for delivering swift and reliable support to units stationed across the northern sector.

Gen Sengupta also interacted with officers from various ranks, commending their professionalism and dedication. He reiterated the army’s commitment to self‑reliance, urging continued investment in indigenous research, development and rapid logistical response mechanisms.
