Lokayukta expands search to Shivamogga, Dharwad, and Raichur
The Lokayukta’s recent raid drive across Karnataka underscores the state’s intensified effort to curb illegal accumulation of wealth by civil servants.
Bangalore South officials targeted the Kumbalgodu Panchayat Development Officer’s residential quarters, office block and auxiliary structures, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Sneha.
Investigators also entered three sites in Belagawadi village, Magadi taluk – the official’s farm house, his brother’s property and his nephew’s residence – to collect evidence.
Four additional locations in Bangalore were searched, focusing on documentary evidence and ledger entries that could indicate undisclosed income.
In Shivamogga, the assistant forest conservator’s premises were seized, and his Dharwad home, Alnavar Road farm house, an industrial‑zone factory and his brother‑in‑law’s house were examined.
Raichur’s raid centred on the executive engineer of the Karnataka Board of Joint Nilgiri (KBJNL), encompassing his workplace, his dwelling in Chickahonnakuni village of Devadurga taluk, and relatives’ homes.
The operation remains active, and the Lokayukta has indicated that more details will be released as the investigation proceeds.
