Lokatantra Bachao Yatra: BJP Targets Congress, Calls Opposition Divisive
Raipur, October 30: The BJP will hold a 'Lokatantra Bachao-Arajakta Hatao' yatra in Chhattisgarh on Friday, targeting opposition parties. The programme will see the participation of Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
BJP leaders warned that the opposition wants to convert India into Bangladesh and said citizens would not allow this.
State minister Guru Khushwant Saheb said the campaign would run continuously for a month. "We are all committed to this cause, and today there is a padyatra in which Union Health Minister JP Nadda is taking part," he said.
He also reacted to the Congress party's protests in Delhi over the SIR. According to Khushwant Saheb, the CJP and Congress were attempting to incite the entire country, spread misinformation and deceive people. "They are trying to disturb the peace and harmony of the nation," he said. "They want to turn India into Bangladesh, but the people of India will not let that happen. We all trust democracy and the Constitution that was made by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar."
The minister said India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is progressing rapidly and moving toward becoming a 'Vishwa Guru'. "We stand together. However hard Congress tries, it will not be able to harm democracy," he said.
On the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, he said the lotus would bloom there for the third time, adding that the trust of the people rests with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Modi.
Union Minister Virendra Kumar, commenting on the opposition's proposed protests, said parties were creating an atmosphere of instability and chaos across the country by raising questions about constitutional institutions. He said that winning the people's mandate required winning their trust.
Kumar pointed to election outcomes in several states over recent years, saying the BJP had reached states like Bengal, formed a government in Haryana for the third time and formed a government in Bihar.
He said the opposition had fallen into a state of despair and frustration, which had created a desire among them to remove a government elected by the people's mandate and seize power. This, he said, was creating instability in the country. He advised the opposition to engage in self-reflection and to go to the public with issues linked to public welfare.
