The Janmashtami market is expected to grow by roughly 30 percent compared with the previous year, when trade was estimated at ₹25,000 crore in 2024 and ₹30,000 crore in 2025. The rise is attributed to higher consumer demand, price adjustments, expanding social celebrations, and the growing influence of modern retail and digital commerce. Khandelwal pointed out that every ritual – from preparing butter‑laden sweets to arranging elaborate flower displays – creates livelihood opportunities for farmers, dairy producers, confectioners, textile traders, sculptors, women entrepreneurs, transport operators, hotels, and restaurants.
