LJP (Ram Vilas) Awaits Draft Before Deciding on Bihar UCC

Patna – Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilais) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that the party will wait for the official UCC draft to be released before taking a position.

Speaking on X, Paswan highlighted India’s diverse social fabric, noting that various communities have distinct customs and that the Constitution already provides special safeguards for Scheduled Tribes.

He stressed that LJP’s decision will be based on a comprehensive review involving all stakeholders, ensuring that both uniformity and diversity are respected.

Paswan’s remarks add another layer to the debate within Bihar’s NDA coalition, where partners are seeking broader consultation before any legislation is enacted.
