Live Streaming, Plastic Ban and Safety Measures Ahead of Sawan Pilgrimage
In preparation for the anticipated arrival of 80 to 100 lakh devotees during Sawan, Kashi Vishwanath Temple has intensified its safety protocols and environmental policies. A strict prohibition on polyethylene bags has been enforced, with local volunteers checking bags at entry points to ensure compliance.
The temple’s digital outreach strategy includes uninterrupted live streaming of the aarti and darshan, enabling worshippers worldwide to partake in the sanctified experience without physical presence. This move aligns with the broader aim of reducing footfall pressure while maintaining spiritual connectivity.
On the ground, the temple has established rain‑proof canopies, marked pathways for orderly movement, and hydration stations offering glucose‑infused water. Each Monday of Sawan, a ceremonial flower shower will be performed, creating a visual spectacle that also serves to calm crowds.
Security contingents comprising local police, water‑police, and rapid‑response medical teams will be on standby throughout the pilgrimage period, safeguarding both pilgrims and the sanctity of the shrine.
