Live and Let Live: Hina Khan Reacts to Omar Abdullah's Wedding

Hina Khan has weighed in on the wedding of Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, and journalist Nidhi Razdan. The actor praised the politician for standing firmly with his relationship, even though it may come at a political price.

Hina highlighted that Omar Abdullah did not turn away from the relationship when the political stakes were high. Instead, she said, he remained by his partner's side. She also used the opportunity to speak against those who judge the union through a religious lens.

In a social media post, Hina wrote, "Aah... love! I am really happy for both of them. He is a Chief Minister, but he did not leave her. He stood by her. Brother, this person's backbone is truly very strong."

The actor, known for her role in the television show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," added that Omar Abdullah might not be elected in the next term. However, she believes the decision to choose love matters far more. "Whether he is elected next time or not, what does it matter? He chose love and proved that the world can go to hell," she wrote.

Hina also gave a message to those who are viewing the marriage through a religious perspective. "A small advice to the guardians of religion: live and let live. Their future will be decided by the Almighty. You are not God," she posted.

Omar Abdullah and Nidhi Razdan had announced their wedding on October 31 through social media. Omar Abdullah shared images of the two on X and wrote that a new journey had begun. He tagged Nidhi Razdan in the post.

Reports suggest that a simple ceremony took place in Srinagar before the wedding, attended by close family.

Omar Abdullah's marriage to Payal Abdullah had been in legal proceedings for several years. The couple has two sons. In July, the Supreme Court accepted their joint petition for divorce by mutual consent and formally ended their marriage.
