Delhi Police’s Mayur Vihar Phase-1 station has set a new benchmark in crime-busting with their record-breaking resolution of a robbery case. Just hours after a woman’s phone was snatched at knifepoint, two repeat offenders were behind bars, complete with recovered evidence.
It was March 19, around the time when shadows lengthen and vulnerabilities peak. Kajal, en route to her workplace via e-rickshaw, became the target near Nala Road’s CNG station. A sudden grab from behind stole her phone, backed by a second man’s intimidating presence.
The complaint escalated when Kajal mentioned the knife threat, leading to a full-fledged robbery FIR. No time was wasted; a crack team led by SHO Mayur Vihar and overseen by ACP swung into high gear.
Key players SI Ajay Sharma, along with HCs Hakam and Narendra, and Constables Sandeep and Subhash, employed cutting-edge tech and street smarts. CCTV scans and secret sources pinpointed the culprits’ hideout at Trilokpuri’s Block 26 trash heap.
Aman (22), known as Kadda, and Farman (26) spilled the beans under questioning. The phone turned up with Aman, the knife with Farman. Court appearance resulted in judicial remand.
These predators prowl mornings and evenings, preying on solitary females in pairs for maximum impact. Aman’s history is littered with theft, loot, and arms cases, suggesting deeper criminal ties.
The operation underscores Delhi Police’s commitment to women’s safety, turning a potential cold case into a triumph of vigilance. Further probes aim to dismantle their modus operandi.
