Lieutenant Parul Dhaddwal has made history with her commissioning into the Indian Army. She is the first female officer from a distinguished military family that has dedicated five generations to the armed forces. Dhaddwal successfully completed her training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. Following her training, she was commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps on September 6, 2025.
During her training, Parul Dhaddwal achieved outstanding performance, securing the first position in the Order of Merit. For this extraordinary achievement, she was awarded the President’s Gold Medal, a recognition of her discipline, dedication, and leadership abilities. Lieutenant Dhaddwal is the fifth generation member of her family to serve in the Indian Army. She hails from the village of Janouri in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, a village steeped in military tradition.
