Letter to finance minister cites organized crime influence in Dera Baba Nanak

Congress representative Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa sent a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighting the alarming rise of organised crime in the Dera Baba Nanak region of Gurdaspur. According to the MP, the area is witnessing a network of gangsters influencing social, economic and political spheres. He specifically mentioned the growing clout of Rajvinder Kaur, the block committee chairperson, who is linked to a convicted gangster. Randhawa urged the central government to direct the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department to conduct a comprehensive audit of the financial inflows, assets, bank accounts and cash transactions of the individuals named.
