Legal Notice Sent to Bhardwaj Over Damaging Posts, Says Verma

During his court appearance on July 4, Delhi cabinet minister Pravesh Verma disclosed that a legal notice was dispatched to AAP chief Saurabh Bhardwaj on May 16, 2026, after the latter posted a video and accompanying text on X that portrayed Verma and his family in a negative light. Verma emphasized that the content, which remains publicly accessible on X, YouTube and other platforms, has caused “continuous damage” to his personal and political image.

Verma recounted that the alleged defamatory material linked him to a school trust in his previous constituency, accusing him of appointing a trust member and of deleting trust records. He reiterated that he has no link to the trust, its members, or the school, and that the claims are politically motivated. The minister pointed out that the legal notice demanded removal of the posts and an apology, yet Bhardwaj has not complied or issued any response. The court has set July 15 for the recording of witness statements in the case.
