Legal Battle Continues as Judge Reviews Khan Sir’s Bail Application
The legal tussle between coaching icon Khan Sir and rival academy head Roshan Anand entered another phase as Patna's civil court examined an anticipatory bail request on Friday. The petition, filed by Khan Sir along with two of his security staff, asks the court to shield them from arrest while the criminal case proceeds.
In a prior hearing, Judge Ramesh Dev heard extensive representations from both counsel. The judge reserved judgment, indicating that a conclusive order would be delivered after evaluating all submissions. This pending decision will clarify whether Khan Sir can avoid detention.
The underlying dispute originates from a June 2 incident in Patna's Kemdkuan police jurisdiction, where a guard employed by Khan Sir was reportedly assaulted and property was vandalised. Video clips of the event were later disseminated on social platforms, leading Khan Sir to allege that Roshan Anand orchestrated the assault to sabotage his coaching business.
Rajat Singh, representing Khan Sir, focused on several critical aspects, notably the legality of a firearm licence held by one guard. He contended that the licence should not be a ground for denial of bail. The judge also remarked on the protracted nature of the case, urging a prompt and fair resolution.
