Legal Battle Over Diamond Harbour MP's Roof Billboard Sparks Further Arrests

The controversy surrounding the illegal billboard on the roof of Abhishek Banerjee’s Camac Street office has now entered a legal phase, with three FIRs registered at Shakespeare Sarani police station and additional complaints filed by KMC. The complaints name senior Trinamool leaders, including MP Abhishek Banerjee, Rajya Sabha member Derek O'Brien, Humayun Kabir, and Baswanar Chakraborty, as parties to the dispute. When KMC officials and police arrived to take down the structure, Banerjee’s supporters formed a human barrier, preventing access to the rooftop. After a brief clash, the police cleared a path, scaled the building, and removed the billboard. The latest arrests bring the total number of detainees to fourteen, reinforcing the ongoing tension between municipal authorities and Trinamool cadres.
