Legal Action Dropped for Demonstrators Over Industrial Estate and Airport

Chennai, September 2 – The Tamil Nadu cabinet resolved to drop all criminal cases lodged against farmers and teachers who engaged in peaceful protests from May 2021 through April 2026. Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, speaking in the assembly under Rule 110, said the move is intended to defend democratic rights and rebuild faith between the government and its people.
