Left‑leaning student groups call for exam transparency after NEET leak

A coalition of left‑leaning student organisations across Telangana announced a full shutdown of academic institutions on Friday, citing the recent NEET paper leak and alleged police brutality against demonstrators in New Delhi. The coalition’s statement demanded an immediate inquiry into the leak, a firm stance against any manipulation of the exam process, and the resignation of the Union Education Minister.

The call was backed by a range of national bodies including the All India Students Federation, the Student Federation of India, and the All India Student Block. As a result, many private schools in Hyderabad and neighboring districts announced a precautionary holiday, while Osmania University delayed all scheduled examinations.

Participants in the Hyderabad rally also appealed for transparent mechanisms in future examinations and stricter monitoring to prevent similar incidents.
