Leaders Honor Sukhdev on Jayanti Amid National Pride

India marked the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Sukhdev Thapar with profound respect on May 15, as top political figures united in tribute. Leading the chorus was Home Minister Amit Shah, whose message resonated deeply with the spirit of sacrifice. Shah's X post vividly recalled Sukhdev's daring exploits. 'Sukhdev, symbol of unmatched bravery, gave everything for swaraj. He played a key part with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru in punishing Lala Lajpat Rai's killers,' he noted. The minister stressed how such acts of valor keep fueling dedication to national service. From Lucknow, Yogi Adityanath invoked Sukhdev's unwavering commitment. 'On this jayanti, humble respects to the revolutionary who offered all for Mother India's freedom and glory. Let his path guide us in safeguarding her dignity,' the UP CM urged. Rekha Gupta of Delhi portrayed Sukhdev as an eternal hero of the independence movement. 'His youthful sacrifice and boundless love for the country inspire every generation. India owes him an eternal debt.' Similar accolades came from Bihar's Samrat Choudhary, who lauded the martyr's fearlessness; Haryana's Nayab Saini, praising his devotion; and Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal Sharma, who called him an unparalleled warrior. These homage-paying moments come at a time when the nation grapples with contemporary challenges, making Sukhdev's example all the more relevant. Born in 1907, Sukhdev joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association young, organizing protests and arms training against British tyranny. His hanging on March 23, 1931, alongside comrades, shocked the empire and galvanized the masses. Today, as leaders invoke his name, it serves as a rallying cry for unity and resolve in building a stronger India.
