Law and Order Concerns Deter Industry in Jharkhand, Opposition Argues

Babulal Marandi warned that Jharkhand’s deteriorating law‑and‑order situation is the primary barrier to industrial investment. He cited a spate of murders, robberies, dacoities and kidnappings that have unsettled the business community.

Marandi asserted that investors seek environments where security is guaranteed. He claimed that criminal elements are even demanding large sums from prospective investors, while the government remains silent.

"No entrepreneur will risk capital in a state where safety cannot be assured," he said, urging the administration to restore confidence through robust policing and swift judicial action.

He added that once law and order improve, land acquisition and other logistical concerns will resolve themselves as investors willingly purchase plots and set up facilities.
