Lavender cultivation and science museums spotlighted in Himachal development plan

In a multi‑point dialogue with Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhu outlined a development agenda that couples high‑tech research with agrarian diversification. The chief minister requested the expansion of CSIR‑run lavender demonstration centres across the state to give growers hands‑on training, improve crop awareness and position lavender as a lucrative alternative for hill farmers.

He also advocated for the creation of science museums in schools located in the state's aspirational blocks. These interactive centres are intended to nurture curiosity, provide practical learning experiences and spark interest in science, technology and innovation among young learners.
