Lathi Charge Images Prompt Paswan to Push for Quick Solutions

Visuals of a lathi charge on candidates of the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission exam sparked outrage on social media. Union Minister Chirag Paswan, after seeing the pictures, traveled to Patna’s Gardeni Bagh protest site on August 25 to engage directly with the aggrieved students.

Paswan listened to the protestors’ list of demands, collected their memorandum, and later conveyed these points to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The issues raised covered the BPSC aspirants, Beltroon examination hopefuls, and those awaiting results of the fourth Teacher Recruitment Examination.

In his X post, Paswan wrote that the images had deeply disturbed him and that he considered it his responsibility, as a senior alliance partner, to ensure the concerns reached the chief minister’s office. He called for a solution built on dialogue and empathy.

The chief minister assured Paswan that the state would treat the matters with seriousness and would act swiftly to provide a positive resolution.
