Large‑scale heroin haul uncovered, Punjab forces dismantle trans‑national smuggling ring

A coordinated effort by Punjab’s law‑enforcement agencies led to the discovery of over 47 kilograms of heroin and a suite of illegal weapons in Faridkot district.

Four individuals connected to an overseas supply chain were apprehended, with the seizure also yielding three pistols, three magazines, fifteen cartridges and two transport vehicles.

Preliminary probes indicate the suspects were part of a broader cross‑border network that collaborates with groups previously busted in Amritsar, where 17 kilograms of heroin were intercepted.

Police have filed FIRs at both Sadik and Faridkot stations and are pursuing deeper intelligence to unravel the full extent of the syndicate, aiming to eradicate the flow of narcotics and firearms into the state.
