Large‑scale ATS Operation Targets JAISH‑E‑Mohammad Network in Gujarat

In a coordinated sweep across several districts, the Gujarat Anti Terrorism Squad dismantled a local chapter of the extremist network JAISH‑E‑Mohammad.

The operation, which involved technical monitoring, human intelligence and digital surveillance, identified eight individuals attempting to build a foothold for the banned outfit in the state. The suspects were found to be disseminating radical content, translating Masood Azhar’s speeches into Gujarati, and managing online recruitment campaigns.

Digital evidence recovered from seized devices uncovered over two hundred files related to the group, including propaganda videos, audio recordings, and correspondence with handlers based in Pakistan. The ATS also reported that the cell had received approximately Rs 300,000 in funding, the origin of which is under investigation.

All eight arrested persons have been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code. The agency indicated that the probe is still in its early stages, with further leads being pursued.
