Lalu’s message calls for socialist solidarity and constitutional defence
Patna, July 5 – In a written communique marking RJD’s 30th anniversary, Lalu Prasad Yadav invoked the principles of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan, Karpoori Thakur and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, reaffirming the party’s allegiance to socialist thought. He insisted that the struggle for social justice must now expand to include economic empowerment and psychological resilience for the disadvantaged.
The message condemned the current government’s attempts to weaken democratic institutions through capital‑driven influence and right‑wing narratives. Yadav warned that issues such as caste discrimination, minority rights, education and job creation are being deliberately muffled by religious polarisation.
He urged RJD cadres to transform the party from a mere electoral machine into a broad‑based movement that fights from Parliament to the streets for the rights of the poor, farmers and the constitution. The call concluded with a plea for all progressive and democratic forces to join hands, set aside petty differences and bring the battle for justice to a conclusive finish.
