Kushambi village sees fatal beating over alleged relationship, police investigate

In Kushambi, a village in Uttar Pradesh, a 19‑year‑old male was found dead after a severe beating that police say was connected to a rumored romantic involvement. The deceased, Shiv Prasad, was reportedly attacked by relatives of the girl he was involved with, leading to his death and critical injuries to the girl herself.

The incident was reported to local authorities by the victim’s elder brother, Guru Prasad, at approximately six a.m. on July 10. Upon arrival, police discovered that the victim had visited his kin, Rakesh Rajput, in Mahua Khada village the previous night. According to the initial line of inquiry, Shiv Prasad and Rajput’s daughter were in a relationship that triggered the violent response.

Medical personnel at the district hospital declared the young man dead, while the girl remains hospitalized under close supervision. Law enforcement officials have collected the body for a post‑mortem, secured forensic material from the site, and are conducting interviews with family members and neighbours.
